autumn is upon us š š
There's been a slight change in the weather but that hasn't stopped Watford's events and activities building up and we're now only a month and a few days away from the legendary Cassiobury Fireworks and Christmas Lights switch on!
Prepare yourself for Halloween, the scare at the end of October, with some comedy throughout the month. Launching on Saturday 3rd of October Fuzzy Bear Comedy will see Dunnings II hosting some of the best comedians in the country, starting with a night headlined by Paul Tonkinson.

Watford Palace Theatre will also be hosting some absolute comedy legends with Gary Delaney and local legend Barry from Watford, with his new show Shooting from the New Hip! Also at the Palace is Simon Evans with his show Simon Evans: Staring at the Sun. There's even comedy for babies, with Bring Your Own Baby Comedy returning to the Palace Theatre.
Coming to the Watford Colosseum is a not-to-be-missed, hilarious evening with a genuine stand-up comedy legend who is globally hailed as one of live comedy's masters - we are absolutely delighted to welcome our favourite Irishman from Australia to Watford Colosseum with his sublimely funny new tour āJimeoin - Ballyhoo!ā
For those more interested in a more physical night of entertianment wrestling will be coming to Watford Palace with Grandslam Wrestling putting on what is sure to be an entertaining evening.

October is also Black History Month which will see a number of events celebrating and exploring a range of subject throughout the month. Watford African Caribbean Association has a helpful list of events to celebrate this, including the Dial Up! Open Mic at the Pumphouse Watford and events which explore a range of cultural aspects for the community.

Then as the town gets ready to get spooky for Halloween at the end of the month, the Trick or Treat Trail and Trick or Treat Event will return from Watford Town Centre BID, which you can warm up for with the Market Lates on Friday 30 October, a great opportunity to dress the family up and take them to a free event to celebrate.

The bars and clubs across Watford will be hosting special events for Halloween as well as there regular events programme, so there's a chance for adults to dress up and join the revelry as well.
The Mad Squirrel, who will be starting their month with Oktoberfest, will be hosting Halloween Music Bingo and an evening with the LP Cafe DJs returning.
Sam's Bar, located on Queens Road, will have a live bands on most weekends throughout October.
Just outside of the Town Centre located on Escourt Road, The Escourt Tavern, who have recently reopened, will be hosting new events including pub quizzes and a weekly poker night.

Opening next month will also see the celebration of Diwali once again in the town centre. On Sunday 1st November, there will be special events and workshops in the town centre celebrating the festival of lights. For more information click here.
