BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE WITH £1.5 BILLION PLAN
Watford is benefitting from £1.5 billion investment, to help enhance the town over the next 10 to 15 years. This ambitious plan will create thousands of new homes and jobs while enhancing services, transport, and facilities, making Watford an even better place to live and work.
At the heart of our efforts is the Town Hall Quarter project, transforming the surrounding area into a thriving hub, featuring new homes, job opportunities, and vibrant public spaces. At its heart is an innovative overhaul of our Grade II listed Town Hall, alongside upgrades to Watford Colosseum, enhancing the town’s creative, cultural, and heritage offerings.

Meanwhile, there are plans for Watford Junction to become a bustling new quarter. Proposals include significant improvements to the station, along with new homes, offices, shops, and better transport links. This transformation would create a welcoming gateway to our town.

We’re also excited about the Watford Riverwell project, a 20-year masterplan to turn 65 acres near Watford General Hospital, into a thriving community complete with jobs, amenities, green spaces, and modern infrastructure.
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance Watford’s well-performing town centre, the High Street Gateway project is reimagining the southern area. We're focused on creating a more pedestrian-friendly space with improved cycling routes, better public transport, and green spaces, all while establishing a unique identity.
Throughout these exciting changes, we’re also continuing to enhance our vibrant business hubs, including Croxley Business Park, Watford Business Park and Clarendon Road to ensure Watford remains a top choice for companies and entrepreneurs.
