Description
Watford Borough Council and Veolia, in partnership with Herts WasteAware are running a clothes swap!
Clothes swapping is a fun, sustainable way to de-clutter and update your wardrobe. Taking part is simple, just come down to West Herts College, and you’ll be able to donate up to 10 unwanted, adult-sized, good quality clothes which will earn you one token per item. You can come back and exchange your tokens for new items. You can refresh your wardrobe and still be kind to the environment.
10am to 11am - Drop off clothes
11am to 1pm - Clothes Swap begins
In the current climate, buying clothes can be expensive and also harmful to the environment. The most carbon intensive part of the life cycle of clothes is in its production, so by taking part in the clothes swap, you are helping to reduce your carbon footprint.
Taking place alongside the swap, Watford Repair Cafe will offer hands-on help to fix everyday items such as small electricals, clothing, and household goods. Residents can simply turn up with their broken item on the day and learn how to repair it. Together, these activities highlight how simple actions can keep products in use for longer, reduce waste, and lower the environmental impact of producing new goods.
