Balsam Bash - Munden Estate - Rediscovering the River Colne

Join Groundwork East for an afternoon of conservation at Munden Estate, Watford as part of the Rediscovering the River Colne project.

We'll be tackling Himalayan Balsam, a non-native plant that is taking over riverbanks in the area. It is also a great opportunity to meet other volunteers all while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

We will meet https://w3w.co/fakes.fully.motor at 12pm, walking or cycling is encouraged as there is very limited parking.

Please bring plenty of water, some sturdy boots or wellies, and sun cream if it's hot! We would recommend long sleeves and trousers as the areas that we're pulling Balsam will also have nettles and thistles.

Please note, this will be fairly physical work, leaning over and pulling plants out of the ground.

We have a small van with a couple of extra seats, so can offer some lucky people lifts - but please note this is first come first served, please get in touch with Robyn to organise!

With thanks to funding from Watford Borough Council and Affinity Water.
