"How do you find the time? I don’t know what I want to do. I just don’t have the energy and I’m a little bit scared to be honest."

These are a few of the most common questions and conversations I have with people when they visit me at the ‘House of Amma – The Art of Living’.

Living life creatively for over 22 years, means that I’ve found ways to answer these questions for myself.

What I’ve also learnt is that these answers aren’t just for me, the principles behind them are definitely ones that can help others too.

Join me in conversation as I share a few tips in creating a life that is best suited to you and brings out the best in you – this is what I call the art of living.

Watford Film Club: A Real Pain

A Real Pain pairs laugh-out-loud awkwardness with an emotional gut-punch. When estranged cousins reunite for a tour through Poland to honour their grandmother, their odd-couple dynamic quickly exposes long-buried tensions—set against the weight of family history. Written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg and featuring a standout Oscar winning turn from Kieran Culkin, it’s a smart, tender comedy-drama that lingers long after the credits.

About Watford Film Club: We are a vibrant Watford film club dedicated to bringing together cinema lovers in our community. We welcome offers from sponsors and businesses eager to associate their brand with our growing cinema community of film enthusiasts. Read more here.

RATING: 15 (strong language, drug misuse)

The Ronnie Scott’s Story

The Ronnie Scott’s Story

Please note: This event has been rescheduled from the previous date of 10th January. All existing bookers have been contacted.

Direct from London’s world-famous jazz club and combining world class live jazz, narration and rare archive photos and video footage, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars return to Watford Palace Theatre with a brand new programme of music celebrating ‘The Ronnie Scott’s Story’.

Set amongst the dive bars and jazz jook joints of London’s Soho, we hear about the desperate hand-to-mouth finances of the early years and the frequent police raids.

We learn how Ronnie’s became neutral ground within rife gang territory and their scrapes with gangsters, including the Krays who were rumoured to have taken Ronnie and Pete “for a little drive”!

Life at Ronnie’s is evocatively reimagined through tales of the club’s past visitors; from pop stars, film stars and politicians, to comedians and royalty – but above all, the musicians.

Mixing classic music from the jazz greats who have performed at Ronnie Scott’s over its incredible 65-year history, alongside tales of old Soho, miscreant musicians and police raids, this is a unique evening celebrating one of the world’s most famous jazz venues, its music, and history.
