Black History Month is celebrated throughout October. Across our town a range of events are taking place to celebrate the rich diversity of our town and to engage people in discussions on how we can further help one another.

The Watford Pump House is proud to be hosting a Dial Up Open Mic in celebration of Black History Month.
We want to throw the doors of the Pump House wide open so this is a FREE EVENT with a suggested donation of £5 at the door for those who are able to pay.
As ever, we will be celebrating community and creativity in all their forms, so whether you are Black, White, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Mixed or however you identify, we welcome you to join us for this joyful occasion! Share you music, your poetry, your passion, your stories. The stage is yours!

The Watford African Caribbean Association is thrilled to announce our Charity Fundraising Gala Ball 2024! Our first Gala since Covid-19 is a roaring return to our exciting annual celebrations!

We are joined by one of the top UK stand-up comedians Rudi Lickwood, who will bring his infectious charm and playful personality to the evening! Esteemed singer Simone Robinson whose repertoire ranges from acclaimed productions in the West End to international performances, will be gracing us with a lively and upbeat performance and Hubbard Sax will be serenading us with his smooth blend of soul, reggae and afrobeats. DJ Mr Fixit will be setting the tone throughout the evening and providing a fantastic set to dance the night away!
Inspired by the life of Nina Simone, and featuring many of her most iconic songs performed live.
Apphia Campbell’s acclaimed play follows a successful singer and civil rights activist as she seeks redemption after the untimely death of her father. She reflects on the journey that took her from a young piano prodigy destined for a life in the service of the church, to a renowned jazz vocalist at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement.
The show has toured the UK nationally to standing ovations and played sell-out seasons in Shanghai, New York, Edinburgh and the West End of London.

Now in their 22nd year, Cassa Pancho’s Ballet Black return to Watford Palace Theatre with a new double bill, Ballet Black: HEROES.
Award-winning choreographer, Mthuthuzeli November contemplates the purpose of life in The Waiting Game, his exciting and energetic work about the meaning of life, originally created in 2020, and infused with a dynamic soundtrack featuring the voices of the Ballet Black artists.
